First year students have a great opportunity to familiarize with Russian culture and traditions during the course of regional studies, which is conducted in addition to other professional courses. As all students are required to undertake clinical practice in Saratov real hospitals, they are getting well prepared for future professional career.
Upon completion of the full undergraduate course, graduates can continue their studies in clinical residency or PhD program in any in-demand medical specialties.
Clinical residency students can choose specialization in any medical field and most of them prefer studying such in-demand medical specialties as surgery, traumatology and orthopedics, ocular diseases, urology, cardiology, neurosurgery, general therapy, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, orthodontics. Clinical residency and PhD graduates obtain a special certificate confirming their specialization.
Since the first intake of international students to clinical residency programs in Surgery and Ocular Diseases in 2003 and till now over 100 international students have taken PhD degrees and have been working as professors at leading universities.
